How it works

How it Works

Over the past 30 years, South Bay LeTip has honed-in on how our program can produce maximum results for our members. From larger weekly meetings to smaller, more focused meetings, there’s never a shortage of opportunities to educate your LeTip sales force on how they can support your business.

Weekly Meetings

Our meetings are held every Tuesday morning from 7:16AM until 8:31AM. They start and end promptly so don’t be late. Our meetings are interactive, fun, and informational and it’s the perfect way to start your day and leave the meeting energized to do business!

What to expect..

Meetings consist of a pre-meeting “Meet n’ Greet,” two (2) 2-minute Showboater presentations, two (2) 10-min Speaker presentations, Committee Reports, and then Business Introductions and Tipping. The meeting ends with “Shout Outs”  – testimonials of successful business done within (or because of) the group. There are no outside speakers, so our attention remains focused on LeTip businesses.

Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to meet and network with your fellow members. This is very important to developing relationships with your LeTip “Sales Force.” The better we know each other, the easier it is to refer business to each other. Weekly attendance is required for all members. Guests are free to attend up to two (2) meetings at no obligation. Once you’ve met us, we’re sure you’ll see the benefits of being a member and want to sign up as soon as possible. And if you’re in need of a mentor, there’s no better place to find one than at a South Bay LeTip meeting. To better promote your business, be sure to bring about 50 business cards.

Chambers of Commerce Meetings & Events

One of the benefits of South Bay LeTip membership is, by default, you’re also a participant member of three (3) local Chambers of Commerce (at no additional costs):

Chambers of Commerce are the perfect venues to network, solicit new business, and recruit additional businesses to join South Bay LeTip. Our membership has the added benefit of granting you access to “Member Only” events.

Attending Chambers’ events allows you to expand your own personal business network. And while you’re there (primarily representing South Bay LeTip, of course), it’s a great way for you to represent your own business as well. The larger your network – the greater your possibility for new business. Got questions, want to know about upcoming Chamber events, or want to know how you can reduce your Chamber costs even more? Contact Mark Applegate, our Chamber Chair for more info.

Lunch Bunch

“Lunch Bunch” sounds silly, but it’s an important part of getting to know your LeTip Sales Force. We meet a few times a year in smaller groups offsite in order to get a more personal take on each other’s businesses. Think of it as an in-person Zoom breakout room with better food and drinks!

Lunch Bunch groups are headed by different volunteer Lunch Bunch Captains, so if you want to get to know some of your fellow members better, sign up to Captain your own Bunch! Can’t make the one you were assigned to? No problem, crash a different bunch (or all of them)! Failure to participate in any Lunch Bunch may incur a fine, as participation is expected.

Visitation

This is really the deep-dive of exploring each other’s businesses. Visitation occurs three times a year and is a 1-on-1 meeting between two members. At lunch, for coffee, for dinner, or happy hour… doesn’t matter as long as you meet to really get a handle on what each other does and what makes a profitable tip for you both. This is the perfect opportunity to ask specific questions about each other and possibly find your perfect Power Partner that will benefit both your businesses. As participation is expected as part of your LeTip membership, failure to participate in your assigned Visitation may result in a fine.

Once Visitation occurs, at the next meeting you’ll give your Visitation partner’s 30-second commercial, and they’ll give yours. So make sure you’ve both got the information you need to succeed. Visitation pairings are set up by the Visitation Chair, so if you’d like to request a specific pairing, let them know.

Chapter Mixers & Social Mixers

LeTip isn’t all business, we do take the time for to let down our hair down (for those of us who still have hair…sorry Felix), relax, have a few drinks, some great food, and get to know each other better.

  • Social Mixers are an opportunity for us and our families to meet, mingle, and strengthen relationships on a personal, not business level. They are always optional to attend, but we grow stronger as a group the better we know each other.
  • Chapter Mixers are specific, scheduled events where we invite prospective new members to meet with us and get to know us at a non-business event. This is the perfect, low-key opportunity to invite someone who you think might be interested in seeing how our group might benefit his/her business. Thinking of having a corporate party for your clients? Why not consider having South Bay LeTip co-sponsor it to see if your clients might be a good fit? Chapter Mixers are a requirement for membership in LeTip, so you’re guaranteed a good turnout.
  • Mixers are usually held at current members’ homes and/or local venues/locations. If you have an idea for a great mixer or mixer location, be sure to contact our Mixer Chair.
